India– Lenovo today announced that its recently-launched Do Network is well on its mission to helping Doers here bring to life their ideas for a better community, as it sees over 1,269 entries submitted across Indonesia, India and Russia for its Do Network competition. In India, passionate Indians have submitted 609 entries.

Officially launched on 8 December 2011, the Do Network is an online platform designed to inspire people to share and discuss ideas they are passionate about, to form project teams and develop their ideas into concrete plans and tangible actions. Apart from the platform, Lenovo has also provided the resources and mentors to empower participants with the necessary knowledge and tools.

Apart from users’ active participation in submitting projects, the Do Network has also garnered strong interest in the surrounding community, generating 19,867 registrations on the website across the three countries to date.

Based on the theme of “technology invention”, the challenges proposed by the Do Network in this cycle of the campaign seek to address the problems that exist in local communities. This includes portable education, traffic jams, or products=progress. The fourth, a wildcard challenge, is also provided to allow Doers to pursue their individual ideas that may not fall under the specific challenge categories, but still fit with the technology invention theme.

"Voting for the projects has begun and we are very hopeful and excited that some of these ideas may help generate positive outcomes for the local communities.  These projects have already garnered 5,309 votes only 10 days after voting began, reflecting the strong support from the local communities. The DO Network mentors, are also looking forward to sharing their insights with the finalists, and we hope to see these winning ideas evolve into real solutions over the course of this campaign. We urge the public to continue voting so that they can see their favorite projects come to life!”
