Analog Devices launches ‘Anveshan 2012’

A flagship Design Fellowship for Indian engineering students
Bangalore - Analog Devices, Inc., the global leader in high-performance semiconductors for signal-processing applications today announced the commencement of its Student Design Project Fellowship, Anveshan 2012. Anveshan is a system level design contest for final year electrical and electronics engineering students across the country. Anveshan was initiated in the year 2010 in order to encourage and enhance system level engineering expertise among engineering students at the university level. The contest gives India’s engineering students an opportunity to showcase their innovation, product design and problem solving abilities.
Registered student teams will be invited to submit proposals for a prototype of an innovative electronic solution across industry verticals like Medical, Infotainment, Home Security, Surveillance, Robotics, Automotive, Green Energy, Process control, Instrumentation or Consumer. Five to ten innovative proposals will be shortlisted and teams will build prototypes using at least 3 components from Analog Devices. Senior engineers from the company will be nominated as mentors for the selected teams.

Analog Devices will fund the project development and expenses and will also provide required samples and evaluation boards. Three of the most innovative and novel projects completed will be recognized as the winners.

Commenting on the program, Somshubro (Som) Pal Choudhury, MD, Analog Devices India said, “At Analog Devices, we are extremely passionate about the high level system design work carried out at our India centre. One of our primary goals is build a strong connect with the academic and engineering student community in India in order to support the development of the next generation of system design engineers in the country. Anveshan is a demonstration of our commitment to achieving this goal and providing students with a fantastic platform to develop and showcase their innovation, and shape their ideas to make it a reality...”

Analog Devices has been operating in India for close to 20 years and has been a pioneer in helping to establish India as a centre of excellence for high end engineering design. The company is focused on bringing together the industry and academia and build strong system design expertise across multiple industry segments.
