iGATE Recognized for Industry Best in Class People Processes Appraised and Rated at People CMM® Maturity Level 5

iGATE Corporation (iGATE or the Company) (NASDAQ:IGTE), the first integrated Technology and Operations (iTOPS) company providing Business Outcomes based solutions under the brand iGATE Patni, today announced that it has been successfully appraised and rated at maturity level 5, of the People CMM® - a framework from the Software Engineering Institute (SEI), USA that comprises state-of-the-art, best practices for Human Capital Management.

The appraisal was conducted by a 10 member team led by Rajesh Naik, a SEI-authorized SCAMPI-A Lead Appraiser from QAI India Ltd. The scope of the appraisal was IT Delivery and Business Enabling Functions of their Bangalore unit.

Commenting on this achievement, Dr. Srinivas Kandula, Global Head-HR, iGATE said, “We started our journey in January 2008 and are happy that we are now operating at the highest level of PCMM®. Our primary purpose of adopting this model was to build our HR practices using a globally recognized framework. I am pleased that this has helped us adopt the most scientific approach in building and managing our people practices and in better alignment of HR with the outcomes-based business model of the Company.”

Maturity Level 5 indicates that the organization is performing at an “optimizing” level. At this level, an organization continually improves its people processes based on a quantitative understanding of its process performance in relation to its business needs. The organization uses a quantitative approach to understand the variation inherent in the people processes and the causes of process outcomes.

Rajesh Naik, who led the appraisal team said, “iGATE has a significant number of best practices that others can learn from. Their methods of managing people’s performance through their competency framework, career planning techniques and knowledge management methodologies are exemplary. The rating at maturity level 5 bears testimony to their quest for continuous improvement and to implement global best practices within the organisation.”

With the continuous improvement of its People processes, iGATE has also, over the last year, received  the ‘Practice of Excellence’ award  from ASTD (www.astd.org) for its  Competency based Career Planning and Management System and has been rated among the Top Three Best IT Employers in India across surveys over the last five years.
