ZTE Unveils World-First Multi-Application 400G and 1T DWDM Prototype

Shenzhen, China – ZTE Corporation (“ZTE”) (H share stock code: 0763.HK / A share stock code: 000063.SZ), a leading global provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions, debuted the world’s first 400G/1T dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) multi-application network device prototype at the 16th WDM & Next Generation Optical Networking Forum in Monaco, France.

The device can carry out seven different network applications depending on a carrier’s requirements.
The 400G/1T DWDM prototype provides equal high bandwidth efficiency that works with a comprehensive range of network applications. It has a multi-subcarrier Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing 400G/1T solution for ultra-long-haul applications. It also is a 16 quadrature amplitude modulation solution for metro and local applications with an industry highest bandwidth utilization rate. Further, it is a Nyquist WDM solution for long-haul applications.

ZTE’s 100G DWDM/ optical transport network (OTN) system supports C-band 80-wavelength applications, standard PM-QPSK code pattern adjustment and coherent detection. It also uses an industry leading advanced soft decision forward error correction technology and provides the industry’s strongest 100G transport capability.
“ZTE is fully prepared to deploy solutions, products and services for the large-scale commercial global rollout of 100G and ultra-100G,” said ZTE Bearer Network Product Line General Manager Chen Yufei.

ZTE is a world-leading provider of next-generation bearer network solutions, devices and services. ZTE launched the industry’s first full-range of 100G bearing solutions in 2010, providing 100G products ranging from switches and routers to WDM OTN equipment and end-to-end solutions from edge layer to core layer.
In July 2011, ZTE displayed the world’s first 1Tb/s DWDM prototype system and its test results at the Opto-Electronics and Communications Conference in Taiwan. In addition, ZTE has applied for dozens of patents in 100G and ultra-100G technologies, covering 100G optical modules, framer, chip, system and other aspects of the technology. More than 20 patents are currently in the application process.
